This is looking up at the 20th Maine's position, from the "Confederate perspective"

The 20th Maine monument can be seen at the far right of the photo.

This is the same view as taken above, from the 20th Maine's perspective.

Try and imagine it without the modern roadways!

These two photos were taken in April 2006.

Here's a very nice photo of the 20th Maine monument.

This marker describes the actions of the Third Brigade, First Division, Fifth Corps (including the 20th Maine) during the battle, on July 2 and 3, 1863.

This is the 20th Maine left flank marker. This marks the extreme left of Chamberlain's 'refuse-the-line' position.

One of the best photos of the 20th Maine monument I've ever seen!

Little Round Top, Gettysburg National Military Park, Gettysburg, PA.

The rock walls, that mark the 20th Maine's front line.

These were not in place during the battle itself, but after.

This is the restored 20th Maine left flank marker.

(Right Photo) Here is a closeup of the 20th Maine monument.

It was taken from "Chamberlain Avenue", which was once a road created for the elderly Civil War vets in the years after the battle.

(Left Photo) Another view of the 20th Maine monument.

(Right Photo) This view is looking up at the 20th Maine's left flank marker, from Chamberlain Avenue.

This short path runs alongside the area known as "Vincent's Spur", and was created in the 1880s, so to make access easier for the Civil War veterans as they got older.

(Left Photo) The big rock to the left is known as the "Oates Boulder", which stands to the right and behind the 20th Maine's left flank marker.

It marks the alleged site of the furthest incursion on the 20th Maine by the 15th Alabama Infantry, commanded by Colonel William Oates, on July 2, 1863.

(Right Photo) This is a picture of the "Prisoner Boulder", at the foot of the 20th Maine's line at Little Round Top.

The story goes that about seven members of the 15th Alabama hid behind this rock during the battle, and were taken prisoner by the 20th Maine during its charge.

(Left Photo) This is another view of the "Prisoner Boulder".

This is a really nice view of the 20th Maine monument.

This is the 20th Maine's right flank marker, which leads west away from their monument..

Contrary to what the sign at the bottom of the hill says, the rock walls were not built by the regiment on July 2, 1863. They were added later.

(Left Photo) This is the 20th Maine, Company B marker, which sits in the woods to the east of "Vincent's Spur". Chamberlain sent Captain Walter Morrill and his company out to the exreme left, to protect that flank from Confederate attack. They were joined by some US Sharpshooters, who had been driven off Big Round Top to the south by the 15th Alabama, in the latter's advance on Little Round Top.

(Right Photo) Another nice photo of the re-installed 20th Maine Left Flank marker.
